Liverpool's Luis Suárez has been named The PFA Player of the Year after an amazing season which saw the Uruguayan scored 30 league goals and leading Liverpool to the unexpected title challenge. It was a complete turnaround for Suárez who missed the first six fixtures of the current campaign after serving the remainder of his 10-game suspension for biting the Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic last year. He was also banned and fined for using racial language towards Manchester United defender Patrice Evra last season and was poised to leave Anfield but the club stood firm and demanded him to honour his contract.
Liverpool were rewarded for sticking with their flamboyant and much controversial striker who together with England's striker, Daniel Sturridge forged a devastating combination that put Liverpool on the verge of their first league title in 24 years before defeat to Chelsea took the title race back to 'three horse race' between Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City with three matches to go.
Chelsea's Eden Hazard won the Young Player of the Year award ahead of Sturridge preventing double Anfield glory for the much acclaimed 'SAS’ partnership. Hazard was runner up in the main prize with Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure third.
