Ryan Giggs has surely made a great impression in his first game in charge as Manchester United's interim manager last week. Fans love him, the players respect him and the result was brilliant. Now, every one is clamouring for Ryan Giggs to be appointed on a full time basis. No disrespect to Louis van Gaal, but sir, you simply are not the first choice here at Old Trafford! With Jurgen Klopp ruling himself out from United's job, fans are now hoping that the board will be braved enough to appoint Giggs as Moyes's replacement. He may not have enough experience but the signs show that he has a good potential. He could be Manchester United's very own Pep Guardiola.
Media report suggest that Ed Woodward, United’s executive vice-chairman, is now facing a growing movement of support for Ryan Giggs to become permanent manager at Manchester United. After a disastrous campaign under David Moyes, Woodward will be looking to recruit a high-profile name and Holland coach Louis van Gaal remains the front-runner. Nonetheless, Giggs 'legendary' status at the club being the most decorated player in the Premier League history has given the Welshman added advantage to be considered for the role on a full-time basis. The way he turned the poor and boring United side (under Moyes) into a swashbuckling and powerful attacking force in last week's game suggests that United may need not have to look further than their very own favourite son for one of the toughest football job in the world. Pundits all over the world have been impressed with Giggs. This include his former team mate and highly respected Sky Sport's pundit, Gary Neville who wants Ryan Giggs to be considered as United's next manager.
He started well on Saturday, so let him have two or three more games to see whether he settles into the position and whether he can bed in and be given that role. I don’t think there’s any certainty wherever you go. There’s the idea that Ryan hasn’t got experience, but he knows the club. And then there’s the idea that Van Gaal has massive experience, but he doesn’t know the Premier League. At the end of the day the owners will do what they want to do. I suppose in some ways they want an experienced hand, but I personally would like to see a British manager be appointed because Manchester United have always appointed British managers. We’ll wait and see. - Gary Neville
